Step 1
With the fluorescent thread form a base for the bead so it fits just a little tight.
Step 2
Tie off, cut the thread, apply a little super glue to the thread and slide the bead keeping the eyes to the sides in the case you use a bead like the one I'm using with eyes. A little bit of the thread must show in the front as a hot spot.
Step 3
Attach the red thread near the bead head. Select like 12 fibers from a Cock de Leon feather, align the tips and tie the bunch in the dorsal side of the fly. The length of the tail in this case is the same as the shank of the hook. Now I'm using a shorter tail, said half the lenght of the shank.
Step 4
Tie a wide fiber from a mottled turkey tail or wing, the UV Krystal Flash fiber and the copper wire as in the photo and build a cigar shape body with the red thread. Tie off the red thread an connect again the fluorescent one.
Step 5
Wrap the turkey biot clockwise one turn after the other without superposing the turns. Cut the remaining piece.
Step 6
Wrap the UV Krystal Flash fiber clockwise over the turkey biot and tie it. Cut the remaining piece.
Step 7
Wrap the red copper wire counterclockwise to reinforce the turkey and UV fiber. Cut the excess wire.
Step 8
Mix just a pinch of UV dubbing with some here's ear and wrap just a couple of turns forming the thorax. With the fluorescent thread create a very slim band near the tungsten bead and tie off.
Step 9
Add a little waterproof superglue and voila, your Frenchie is ready for the pickiest trout.
